Once a center of divine learning the Scarlet Monastery now stands fractured and fanatical. From the haunted Graveyard to the war-torn Armory, through the forbidden tomes of the Library and into the Cathedral’s blood-soaked altar, the Scarlet Crusade hunts all outsiders. Face Commander Mograine and High Inquisitor Whitemane—whose zealotry and resurrection magic make death only the beginning.
How to Unlock the Old Scarlet Monastery
To access the original Scarlet Monastery dungeons, you must first obtain
The Scarlet Key
, which drops from the
Loot-Filled Pumpkin
—a daily reward during
Hallow’s End
after defeating the Headless Horseman
while all four curses are active. You can also trade for or purchase a key from your region’s Auction House if the holiday event is not active.
Once you have the key, head to the
Scarlet Monastery entrance. At the top of the stairs, you’ll find a quest titled
The Scarlet Key
. Complete the quest, then interact with the
Old Keyring on the wall to activate the old dungeon versions.
You can toggle between the new and old versions using the Scarlet Monastery of Old buff, which is now available to all characters on your account.
You can loot a spare key from Doan’s Strongbox once you’ve defeated him that you can trade to another player or sell on the auction house. You may only loot one key per week per account.
